First of all, I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to go to Ba'kelalan, Mount Murud this year. If it was not the encouragement and motivation from Sister Judith, I may not have had the courage to make such a decision. For the first time TMC delegation to this event comprises of brothers and sisters from three different congregations. Although we are from different backgrounds, cultures, speak different languages and different ages, our belief brings us together for this trip. Together we went through laughter, enjoyed beautiful scenery, supported, and encouraged each other throughout the whole journey.

I am not new to mountain hiking/climbing. From my previous experiences, I think I can climb at a reasonably fast pace, and I wished to reach the destination as soon as possible. I told my team that I wanted to reach the destination fast. However, to my surprise, as soon as I stepped into the forest, I felt that it was not as easy and smooth as I had imagined. We were divided into three teams, and all the team members were to take care of each other, and no one were to be left behind or left alone.

By the grace of God, my children and I had learned to cope with the loss of the family head cum bread winner in our family. We had moved into a new chapter of our life.

My children have grown up slowly and have become independent. All my desires and dreams have been fulfilled under His merciful hands. My restless heart and fired up emotions gradually calmed down over the years. I asked God what next? I need to have a fresh encounter with Him lest I became powerless for Him. It is always my desire to see nature where I can feel His presence and let Him to rekindle His first love in me. After much prayer, my spirit and my physical being came to consensus to follow my church group to Mount Murud for a prayer convention.

How Jesus walk in my life journey with our Father’s perfect Love

My parents were Buddhist during my childhood. They worship the Buddhist statue everyday & I just followed their footsteps. However in my heart, I fear death. 怕死 as I believe that if I died, my soul will be helpless, lonely and lost without any direction. That’s my insecurity that affected my mental and emotional wellbeing that time.

Subsequently I attended University in NZ, I met my Flatmates and all of them are Christians. I was so blessed to be with them because every night we will pray the rosary together. That's how my curiosity towards God arose.

God draws me closer to him by answering a lot of my prayers. I wanted to know & understand him more, so I follow my Uni mates to attend daily mass. The more I spend time with God and study His words , the more peaceful I become. I began to join choir, bible study and finally RCIA.

My view from Hotel Room

I had just graduated in February 2020 and was staying back in Perth hoping to get a job. Then the Covid-19 pandemic started and WA started its lockdown.

My parents were obviously concerned and asked me to check if there were any available flights back to Kuching but for weeks there were none. One Saturday morning, mum and her BSF ladies were praying for me. That evening Mum just happened to scroll her Facebook and saw a newspaper article about MAS having two special flights to Kuala Lumpur on the following week!!!
